Overview

The Event Development Fund provides organisers of proven events in regional NSW with funding to support their future growth and continued development. Event organisers must have received the maximum funding permitted through the Flagship Event Program prior to applying.

Funding is offered for activities that are likely to promote increased overnight visitation to the region, including but not limited to:

  • promotional activities
  • cooperative marketing activities
  • costs associated with implementing visitor research methodologies
  • infrastructure costs associated with encouraging extended stays (e.g. additional hire costs to extend the event an extra day)
  • costs associated with the delivery of an improved visitor experience (e.g. grandstands, information services, facilities)
  • improving accommodation options or the delivery of temporary accommodation.

Funding may not be used:

  • as prize money, gifts or contributions to charitable groups
  • for performer/artists fees, infrastructure costs, travel expenses, or general administration costs.

Check if you can apply

To be eligible, the event organiser must:

  • own the rights to the event
  • be financially solvent
  • be a company or incorporated association
  • have an Australian business number (ABN)
  • be running an event located in one of the 7 regional Destination Networks geographical areas in NSW.
