Demonstrating that you’re committed to reducing greenhouse emissions can be a great way of creating a positive impression with your customers and suppliers. It may also allow your business to be officially recognised for its efforts.
If your business is in the process of becoming carbon neutral or developing carbon neutral products, you can apply for the National Carbon Offset Standard (NCOS) Carbon Neutral Program. The program certifies your business operations or products as being carbon neutral. If your business or product is deemed carbon neutral, you will have the opportunity to display the Standard’s trademark to consumers.
Australian businesses, particularly farmers, will also have the opportunity to develop offset credits for voluntary carbon markets.
NCOS replaces the Greenhouse Friendly™ scheme. If you still hold a Greenhouse Friendly™ abatement, visit the Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency website for information on what you can do with your abatement.
