If a product is defective or unsafe, or likely to cause damage or injury in any way, it should be recalled as soon as possible. If a consumer suffers serious injury from such products, suppliers can be liable under the product liability provisions of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 or under common law.
Unsafe products are usually recalled by the supplier. If you believe a product is unsafe, notify your supplier and stop selling it.
