The Critical Metals for Critical Industries (CMCI CRC) will drive industry-led innovation to accelerate the development and commercialisation of new critical metals refining technologies. Its vision is a commercially competitive, sustainable, and sovereign critical metals refining capability, securing supply for technology products and strategic exports. Australia's lack of downstream processing for our world-class resources supply currently limits strategic and economic gains. The CRC will address this by targeting high-value metals, breakthrough technologies and sustainable refining methods. Key outcomes will include green refined metals for the energy, electronics and defence sectors, resilient supply chains, and lasting economic, environmental and social benefits for Australia.
