The purpose of the Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine (ASUM) is to promote the highest possible standards of medical ultrasound practice in Australia and New Zealand. ASUM encourages and assists research and education in diagnostic ultrasound, forms appropriate standards of practice, advises government and statutory authorities on aspects of the practice and provides social intercourse among practitioners.
