The Information Publication Scheme (IPS) aims to transform the freedom of information framework from one that responds to individual requests for access to documents, to one that requires Australian Government agencies to take a proactive approach to publishing information.
In accordance with the scheme, the Department of Industry, Innovation, Science, Research and Tertiary Education (Department of Industry) Agency Plan provides guidance on how business.gov.au will publish information. As detailed in the plan, business.gov.au will categorise information using the structure below.

business.gov.au gives access to simple tools and resources to assist businesses, and its content facilitates a growing number of online business transactions with government agencies.
