National Fraud Week last week highlighted the need for awareness about scams that target small business. SCAMwatch has been developed by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) to help businesses recognise, report and protect themselves from scams.

Scams that target small business can come in a number of forms, from bills for advertising or directory listings, to false claims of government departments needing you to send money.

For information and tips on how to best protect yourself and your business or to report a scam, visit the SCAMwatch  website or contact the ACCC Infocentre on 1300 302 502.
