Urgent assistance
If your property is damaged and you are in urgent need of assistance, contact the State Emergency Service (SES) on 13 25 00. Alternatively, visit the QLD SES website.
Recovery grant scheme
Under the Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA), the Queensland Government is providing flood recovery grants to small businesses and primary producers to help them employ locals to assist with recovery efforts and maintain current staff.
There are two types of grants available:
- Tier 1 grants of up to $5 000 are immediately available to assist with the early recovery effort.
- Tier 2 grants of up to $20 000 will be provided on proof of expenditure.

Other financial assistance for small businesses and primary producers
You may also be eligible to apply for other financial assistance including:
- freight subsidies of up to $5 000 for primary producers transporting foodstuffs, building or fencing materials, restocking of livestock as a result of the event, fodder, machinery or equipment, or fuel
- concessional, low interest rate loans of up to $250 000 for eligible small businesses and primary producers.

Assistance for individuals and households
The Australian Government Disaster Recovery Payment (AGDRP) has been activated to assist people who have been adversely affected by the storm damage and associated flooding that began on 1 March 2010.
