Each year, staff from Business Enterprise Centres (BECs) along with many other business advisors from around Australia attend the Small Business Development Conference .

This year's conference is being held in Cairns from 12-15 September and business.gov.au will be providing live reports from the event via our facebook and twitter services.

BECs are community-based, not for profit organisations which provide support, guidance and advice for small business intenders and operators. BECs are situated in metropolitan and regional centres throughout Australia and offer a range of services including:
- workshops and seminars
- mentoring support
- business analysis.
Some BECs are funded to provide Small Business Advisory Services around Australia.
