Provides businesses who have a growth opportunity with access to experienced Advisers and Facilitators delivering Growth Services who will work with them to develop their unique growth plan. Advisers/Facilitators will mentor the business through the implementation of their plan, facilitating access to knowledge and expertise, research, funding and other assistance.

Who can apply:

At a minimum, you must:

  • meet the Entrepreneurs’ Programme eligibility criteria;
  • have a realistic and achievable growth opportunity that will transform your business;
  • have management commitment to achieving the opportunity; and
  • be willing to acquire the necessary resources and capacity to successfully execute a growth plan.

A Growth Services engagement will enable your business to identify and capitalise on growth opportunities more rapidly, easily, and capably, with less risk. The engagement will help your business build the capacity to accelerate growth.

At no charge to you, a Business Adviser or Facilitator will:

  • develop a Growth Plan to help you reach your growth potential;
  • provide support, advice and mentoring to build the necessary capabilities, culture, strategies and connections for growth;
  • provide you with access to relevant advice, networks and knowledge; and
  • help maintain your growth momentum through regular meetings and follow-up.

Business Growth Grant funding is available to offset the cost of implementing actions from your Growth Plan. Learn more in Business Growth Grants.

Eligibility criteria

A business must be:

  • a for-profit company incorporated and operating in Australia;
  • non tax-exempt;
  • registered for GST; and
  • a company with trading activities that are the majority of its overall activities.

You are not eligible to apply if you are:

  • an individual;
  • a partnership;
  • a trust (however, an incorporated trustee that meets the trading activity requirements above may apply on behalf of a trust);
  • a Commonwealth, State or Local Government agency or body (including government business enterprises); or
  • listed on the current Workplace Gender Equality Agency list of non-compliant organisations.

To be eligible, you must:

  • satisfy one of the following:
    • be operating in one or more of the Growth Sectors which are:
      • Advanced Manufacturing
      • Food and Agribusiness
      • Medical Technologies and Pharmaceuticals
      • Mining Equipment, Technology and Services
      • Oil, Gas and Energy Resources, or
    • provide Enabling Technologies and Services to one or more of the Growth Sectors, or
    • have the skills, ability, expertise or intellectual property to work in or with one or more of the Growth Sectors in the future, or
    • be a tourism business operating in Northern Australia.
  • be solvent
  • have filed Business Activity Statements in Australia showing ongoing trading in at least three successive years
  • have an annual turnover (or operating expenditure) within the current, or one of the last two, financial years:
    • Between $1.5 million and $100 million or
    • Between $750,000 and $100 million for applicants from Remote Australia or Northern Australia.
  • not have received Growth Services in the last five years.

Merit criteria

You must also meet merit criteria to be approved into Growth Services. A merit assessment evaluates whether your business has a:

  • growth opportunity;
  • growth commitment; and
  • resources and capacity to implement a growth plan.

A Business Adviser/Facilitator will meet you onsite to assess whether your business meets the merit criteria.

How to apply

Lodge your application for a Growth Services engagement at any time using the online Growth Services Application Form. You will need to include the following documentation in order to help us assess your application:

  • the last two years’ profit and loss statements; and
  • the last two years’ balance sheets.

The form takes about 15 minutes to complete.

If your application is successful

After the merit criteria assessment has been completed by the Business Adviser/Facilitator you will receive written confirmation of the outcome of your application.

If your application is not successful, we will outline the key actions that you can take to prepare your business for growth and potentially reapply for Growth Services in the future.
