Greater Shepparton City Council Linking Culture, Environment and People - RiverConnect Shared Paths This project will extend two of the existing shared path networks between Shepparton and Mooroopna. Route 3 is the Flats, a highly significant area which was settled by the traditional owners following the famous Cummeragunja walk off in 1939. The Flats shared path will continue the interpretive signage, explaining and celebrating the extensive contribution Yorta Yorta have made to the local and national identify. Route 5 will see a vital link to the existing shared path network along the Goulburn River to the Australian Botanic Gardens (ABGS) on the southern side of the Broken River. This will connect the Gardens to the Victoria Park Lake precinct and provide a valuble addition to tourism and recreational opportunities for visitors and locals alike. Radnor Corp Pty Ltd as the trustee for the Radnor unit trust Creating a Stanhope Rice Milling Facility The project will upgrade a derelict mill into a modern and productive rice milling facility which employs locals, reinvigorates the rice industry in Victoria and provides a replacement product to imported rice. Radnor Corp, trading as Forbidden Foods, currently imports, manufacturers and distributes boutique rice products throughout Australia and New Zealand, and re-exports value added rice products to the UK, US, Ireland and Singapore. The ultimate aim is to become fully vertical, supporting existing farmers and re-establishing the Victorian rice industry to produce a Victorian grown rice which is milled, packaged and distributed to high-end outlets across the country and the export market. Indigo Shire Council Refurbishment of the Beechworth Railway Goods Shed This project involves the refurbishment of the Beechworth Railway Goods Shed into a multi-purpose commercial space to complement the railway station precinct and adjacent rail trail. The re-activated Goods Shed will be a vital link as the entry point to two legs of the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail. The $6 million leg from Beechworth to Yackandandah is expected to begin construction in 2018. It is expected that with cycle-related businesses and other enterprises such as the Beechworth Food Co-op situated at the Goods Shed, the project will generate a significant boost to the economy of Indigo Shire and create jobs. Westmont Aged Care Services Limited Scoping the Skills and Training Needs of Rural Aged Care Workers The demand for an appropriately skilled and committed aged care (AC) workforce in rural areas has escalated over decades. Workforce estimates indicate a worsening of the current situation due to the ageing and imminent retirement of a large number of community AC workers. The care needs of a growing population of community-living elders are more complex given the high prevalence of multiple and chronic physical and cognitive conditions among this group. Industry and policy demands for high quality and cost-effective care into the future are threatened by projected workforce and skill shortfalls as well as by dissatisfaction with current training courses. Wine by Sam Pty Ltd as trustee for the Plunkett Dunwoodie Family Trust Winery Fermentation & Maturation Capacity Expansion This project will increase the winery processing and storage capacity. This will include the purchase of new Australian made wine tanks and catwalks, and fitting out an existing building with overhead plumbing linking to the main cellar. This increase will support the region's vineyards, from which the fruit is sourced, and increase the capacity of the winery by around 12%. The wine produced by Wine by Sam is sold in Australia and overseas. The winery is currently at capacity, with demand, including to new export markets, unable to be met. Moira Shire Council Yarrawonga Tourism Trail project This project, along the iconic Yarrawonga Foreshore overlooking Lake Mulwala, will fill two critical gaps that exist in the 5km tourism trail from Yarrawonga CBD to the Silverwoods Golf course complex. Works include construction of a shared pathway along an 800m section of River Road and foreshore development of The Point further to the East. Works at The Point include the development of shared pathways, a boardwalk, jetties, retaining wall and viewing platforms as well as landscaping. Once complete, this tourism trail will provide safe, off road passage offering picturesque and uninterrupted views across Lake Mulwala for the thousands of tourists who visit the region each year.   2. acquisition of a shuttle bus to create new services;
  3. an extensive accompanying tourism engagement plan; and
  4. a feasibility study into a locally designed and built new Murray River Paddlesteamer.
This project will create a unique destination for increasing visitation, encouraging extended stay lengths and enhancing visitor experience. It will provide additional services to support other local businesses with transport to historical, sporting, winery and farmgate locations.

Visitors will be engaged through interactive multimedia and fixed displays, along with curated exhibitions depicting the settlement, growth and establishment of the Goulburn Valley as a major national transport hub and one of the Nation's leading food bowls. This project builds on the success of the Shepparton Motor Museum and Collectibles which has been founded and built by the community in partnership with the private sector. Mansfield Shire Council Mansfield Station Precinct Activation Project The Mansfield Station Precinct Activation Project is an opportunity to provide the blueprint for a vibrant tourism and hospitality hub at the entry to Mansfield Township that will be an important contributor to the local and regional economies. It is anticipated to provide local ongoing jobs particularly around the hospitality and tourism sector and provide a net economic benefit to the town and region through the flow on effects of increased tourism activity. The precinct is home to the start of the Great Victorian Rail Trail and offers itself as an opportunity to incorporate and build upon bicycle tourism in the area. Campaspe Shire Council Development of an enhanced model of aged care for the Rochester district The project will support the development of a better model of aged care by completing a feasibility study to identify an appropriate delivery model for assisted living accommodation. This project will determine the demand for, and community and stakeholder interest in, an innovative aged and disability housing complex, located on land adjacent to Rochester and Elmore District Health Service, which will enable people to live longer and independently within the community. Development of these units will provide an option not currently available in the Rochester district, therefore enhancing the care models for both aged and disabled clients. Although it falls just outside the border of the Goulburn Valley region the economic benefit to the the region is enormous.
