TDA stand at Eurosatory 2018

One of the largest ever Australian defence industry delegations to an overseas event is in Paris for Eurosatory, the pre-eminent defence sector event in Western Europe.

Some 49 companies are participating in the Team Defence Australia stand or the associated trade mission, or both. This is Australia’s inaugural presence at Eurosatory, which brings together companies from 140 countries. We will showcase the Bushmaster vehicle and a range of other defence and humanitarian capabilities.

The Minister for Defence Industry, the Hon Christopher Pyne MP, will be in France to support the delegation and meet with representatives of the exhibiting companies.

The trade mission runs from 5–20 June and is being hosted by BAE Systems, Thales and Rheinmetall, who are contracted under the Global Supply Chain (GSC) program.

The GSC program funds defence prime contractors to identify bid opportunities for Australian small to medium sized enterprises across their defence and commercial businesses. The trade mission incorporates networking functions, business meetings, market briefings and the opportunity for the Australian businesses to pitch their capabilities to the global primes’ business units.

The exposition itself runs from 11–15 June, with 39 Australian companies participating in the Team Defence Australia stand to showcase Australia’s defence industry to an international audience. Providing opportunities like this is one of the ways the Centre for Defence Industry Capability helps Australian companies to be export ready and access pathways to greater export success.
