As part of the Defence Export Strategy announced in January, the Export Finance and Insurance Corporation (Efic) will administer a $3.8 billion Defence Export Facility.
This will enable Efic to provide financial assistance to even more defence export contractors, giving them the support they need to grow their businesses on a global scale.
Efic offers a range of bond, loan, guarantee and buyer finance solutions.
This contrasts with the Centre for Defence Industry Capability, which provides business improvement grants and business development support, and Defence Export Controls, which ensure defence exports are in line with Australia’s national interests and international obligations. A new Defence Export Office, which was also announced as part of the Defence Export Strategy, will be the lynchpin of whole-of-government efforts to support the export success of Australian industry when it begins operations later in 2018.
All can help business take advantage of new defence export opportunities.
