Overview
The Business Development Fund provides early stage co-investment funding to innovative Queensland businesses. The Fund invests in businesses that are looking to commercialise new research or innovative ideas, products or services.
Funding of between $125,000 and $2.5 million is available to invest in a Queensland business. The amount invested will not exceed the amount invested by the private sector co-investor. The invested amount may differ from the level of funding the business seeks. The Fund's investment is a direct investment in the business, and is not a:
- payment to the co-investor
- grant
- loan
Both the co-investor and the Fund will become shareholders in the business. The Fund can exit an investment if:
- the co-investor exits the investment, or
- the business is merged, acquired or publicly listed
