Dam Desilting Rebate QLD

The Dam Desilting Rebate provides drought affected livestock farmers with a rebate to help with the costs of desilting an existing dam used primarily for livestock.

Applications close 30 June 2021 or when the funding allocation is exhausted, whichever occurs first.


What do you get?

Up to $25,000 per PIC, per financial year.

Who is this for?

Queensland drought affected livestock farmers.


This rebate may be used to help with:

  • professional contracting costs associated with the desilting of your dam on your drought declared property
  • any reasonable travel costs for the desilting contractors

What are the eligibility criteria?

To be eligible you must:

  • be a property owner, share-farmer or lessee in the grazing industry (beef cattle, sheep, dairy cattle, goats, deer or horses that are not normally hand-fed)
  • operate a primary production business as a sole trader, partnership, trust or private company
  • own a property located in an eligible area which is impacted by drought
  • spend more than 50% of your labour on, and derive more than 50% of your gross income from the primary-production enterprise
  • provide an endorsed Australian Dam Desilting Statement that includes a photo of your dam, a quote from a business to undertake the dam desilting activity and a map of your property
