Farm Forestry Assist provides private landowners in WA with free, high-quality radiata or pinaster pine seedlings to establish a new pine plantation.
What are the eligibility criteria?
To be eligible, you must:
- be a private landowner in Western Australia, whose land is located within a Softwood Industry Hub as outlined in the Softwood Industry Strategy
Your proposed plantation must:
- be between 20ha (minimum) - 50ha (maximum) in size
- be within the >600mm annual rainfall zone
- be within the softwood industry zone for commercial harvesting
- have well drained soils with a minimum depth of 2.5m (not saline)
- meet the guidelines for softwood establishment
- meet local government planning obligations in relation to fire protection and firebreak establishment and maintenance
- be established during the winter 2019 planting season
