What do you get?

There are three grant categories, ranging from a maximum of $250,000 over no more than 18 months, to a maximum of $1 million over no more that 36 months.

Who is this for?

At a minimum, you must:

  • be a non-tax-exempt company, Australian university, cooperative research centre (CRC) or publicly funded research agency (PRFA)
  • be able to use any intellectual property necessary to carry out the projects under the JSF Program.

You need to match the grant amount dollar for dollar.

The New Air Combat Capability – Industry Support Program aims to help defence industry businesses and research organisations win work in the JSF project by improving their:

  • capability
  • competitiveness
  • capacity for innovation

Your proposed project should be aimed at:

  • entering export markets
  • securing domestic contracts
  • upskilling your staff

There are three streams of assistance.

Stream A: Grants of up to $1 million over no more than 36 months (plus any approved extensions) for the development of new or improved JSF:

  • technology
  • product
  • process, or
  • service

Stream B: Grants of up to $250,000 over no more than 18 months (plus any approved extensions) for the development of new or improved JSF:

  • technology
  • product
  • process, or
  • service

Stream C: Grants of up to $300,000, with no more than $100,000 per financial year, over a period of no more than 36 months, for:

  • Australian universities
  • CRCs
  • PFRAs, or
  • a company controlled by one of the above

Eligibility


What entities are eligible?

For Stream A and Stream B you must be:

  • a non tax-exempt company, or
  • an Australian university, CRC or PFRA

 For Stream C you must be:

  • an Australian university, CRC or PFRA, or
  • a non tax-exempt company that is controlled by one of these

What are the eligibility criteria?

To be eligible you must:

  • have ownership, access to, or the beneficial use of any intellectual property necessary to carry out the project
  • demonstrate your ability to fund the costs of the project that are not covered by the program funding

If you are a consortium or trust there are additional eligibility criteria, which are listed in the Customer Guidelines

Who is excluded?

You are not eligible if your company is:

  • listed in the Customer Guidelines as a JSF prime or original equipment manufacturer
  • named by the Affirmative Action Agency as an organisation that has not complied with the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012 (Cth).

  • the JSF industry opportunities available
  • the capabilities sought by entities in the JSF supply chain
  • your eligibility
  • your project suitability
  • draft applications
