Overview

The Organics Processing Infrastructure stream provides funding to organisations for infrastructure and equipment that will reduce food and garden organics waste going to landfill.

Funding may be used for a range of built infrastructure and equipment that increases the capacity to process source separated food and garden organics that would otherwise be sent to landfill.

Eaxamples of infrastructure include, but are not limited to:

  • new or enhanced major organics processing facilities
  • upgrades to composting facilities
  • sheds to enclose the receipt of material or early composting stages
  • engineered compost pads
  • shredders
  • trommel screens
  • windrow covers
  • aeration management equipment

What are the eligibility criteria?

To be eligible, you must:

  • be a business experienced in waste management or organics processing
  • have a proposed project that will be substantially completed by June 2021
  • not be involved in the transport of waste out of NSW for disposal in another state or territory
