Overview

The Social Enterprise Grants Program provides Queensland social enterprises with matched funding to help them access professional advice and support to start and grow their business.

The funding may be used to participate in training, engage a consultant, advisor, or business coach for up to six months to help establish or grow the business, hone their mission and/or create employment opportunities and pathways.

The training, advice or services must fall under one or more of the following areas:

  • mentoring/coaching, professional business advice
  • business and strategic planning
  • marketing, branding or digital strategy development
  • website development or upgrades or technology for e-commerce

What are the eligibility criteria?

To be eligible, you must:

  • be a social enterprise based in Queensland
  • have a registered business name
  • have an Australian Business Number (ABN)
  • be led by an economic, social, cultural or environmental mission that has a public or community benefit
  • trade to fulfil your mission and derive more than 50% of your income from trade
  • reinvest the majority of any profits/surplus into the fulfilment of your mission
  • provide evidence (letter by CPA or chartered accountant) that the business does, or intends to, reinvest or give 50% of income generated to fulfil its mission
  • not be insolvent
