Commission Support Funding Public Art and Design SA

Provides SA-based groups who are willing to commission an artist with funding of up to $15,000 to cover up to 50% of costs to create publicly accessible artwork at high profile locations.
Who can apply:
At a minimum, you must:
- be in partnership with another eligible applicant such as a community group or Government agency to commission the work
- be based in SA
Other eligibility requirements may apply.
Commission Support funding promotes and enables new art work for high profile public locations in South Australia. The art work can be temporary or permanent by a professional South Australian artist.
Artists need to develop a concept to be able to commission their work. The funding covers costs that relate directly to creating the artistic concept, such as:
- artist's fees
- design development
- documentation costs
Funding of up to $15,000 is available for costs that relate directly to creating the artistic concept.
To apply, you must live in South Australia and be one of the following:
- an individual
- a community group
- an organisation (including if you receive ongoing Arts South Australia funds) and
- a Local and State Government agency
The private sector can apply for financial assistance only when in partnership with an eligible applicant. The private sector can obtain advice on the commissioning of works of art for public places.
