Building Better Regions Fund (BBRF)

The Building Better Regions Fund is a competitive grants program that provides funding for infrastructure and community investment projects that will create jobs, drive economic growth and build stronger regional communities into the future. Eligible applicants must apply during a funding round and applications are assessed against the merit criteria and other eligible applications in the funding round.

Who can apply:

At a minimum, you must:

  • have an Australian Business Number (ABN)
  • be registered for the Goods and Services Tax (GST)
  • be incorporated in Australia,

and, in accordance with s24 of the Medical Research Future Fund Act 2015, you must be one of the following eligible bodies:

  • a medical research institute
  • a university
  • a corporate Commonwealth entity
  • a corporation (including businesses and not for profits).

Medical Technologies Program

  • Open

Provides SA medical research and manufacturing businesses with up to 250 hours of research to develop new medical devices and assistive technologies.

Who can apply:

At a minimum, you must:

  • have an Australian Business Number (ABN)
  • have a completion time of three months (or 250 hours) for your project
  • be creating a medical device or assistive technology
  • be able to co-contribute $5,000 to the project.

Victorian Defence Industry Supply Chain Program

  • Open

Provides Victorian small to medium enterprises (SME’s), currently engaged in a defence, aerospace or security supply chain with matched funding of between $2,000 and $100,000 to help them compete for and win more defence, aerospace or security related work.

Who can apply:

At a minimum, you must:

  • be a legal entity, currently engaged in a defence, aerospace or security supply chain or able to demonstrate a genuine intent to enter a defence, aerospace or security supply chain
  • have an Australian Business Number (ABN)
  • be a SME with an operating presence in Victoria.

Who can apply:

At a minimum, your farm business must be:

  • located in an eligible area of Australia

  • in financial need of a loan.

  • be registered for tax purposes in Australia with an Australian Business Number (ABN) and be registered for GST
  • be in financial need of a loan.
