At a minimum, you must:

  • have the capacity to repay the loan
  • have taken steps to prepare your business for the effects of drought.

  • Open

Provides Queensland drought affected farming businesses with subsidies and rebates of between $20,000 and $40,000 per property to manage transportation and operating costs.

Who can apply:

At a minimum, you must:

  • be a member of the grazing industry
  • have a property in a drought-declared area
  • operate in Queensland.

Local Industry Fund for Transition

Provides businesses affected by the closure of car manufacturers in Victoria with funding of up to $2 million to cover up to 25% of costs for eligible projects to find new markets and create new jobs.

Who can apply:

  • have an Australian Company Number (ACN) and an Australian Business Number (ABN)
  • be based in Victoria have the ability to meet the required co-contribution ($3 for every $1 of funding).

Provides businesses in the Hazelwood area that have been affected by the closure of the Hazelwood power station and mine with financial assistance of up to $71,000 to develop transition plans for the future.

  • be incorporated in Victoria
  • be based in the Latrobe Valley
  • have been operating for at least four years
  • have derived at least 20% of your revenue from the Hazelwood power station and mine

Provides Queensland small businesses and primary producers with low-interest loans of up to $250,000 to assist with disaster recovery.

Who can apply:

At a minimum, you must:

  • have sustained substantial damage to buildings, plant, equipment or stock as a result of an eligible disaster
  • be a small business owner or primary producer in Queensland.

Disaster Recovery Allowance (DRA)

Provides people whose income has been reduced because of a declared major disaster with a short-term allowance for up to 13 weeks.

Who can apply:

At a minimum, you must:

  • be at least 16 years of age
  • be an Australian citizen or be eligible to work in Australia
  • live in, or earn or receive an income in an area that has been adversely affected by a declared major disaster.

Provides primary producers in NSW with funding of between $7,500 and $20,000 to help transport stock or fodder in emergencies such as declared natural disasters or droughts.

  • be registered with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) as a primary producer and have an Australian Business Number (ABN).

Provides primary production businesses with tax deductions on farm management deposits to help them deal with inconsistent income from natural disasters, climate and market changes.

Who can apply:

At a minimum, you must:

  • be carrying on a primary production business
  • be an individual (including as a partner in a partnership or beneficiary of a trust)
  • have a taxable non-primary production income of less than $100,000 in the income year you make the deposit.
