Who can apply:

At a minimum, your farm business must be:

  • located in an eligible area of Australia
  • registered for tax purposes in Australia with an Australian Business Number (ABN) and be registered for GST
  • in financial need of a loan.

Local Industry Fund for Transition

  • Open

Provides businesses affected by the closure of car manufacturers in Victoria with funding of up to $2 million to cover up to 25% of costs for eligible projects to find new markets and create new jobs.

Who can apply:

At a minimum, you must:

  • have an Australian Company Number (ACN) and an Australian Business Number (ABN)
  • be based in Victoria have the ability to meet the required co-contribution ($3 for every $1 of funding).

  • operate in Queensland.

Provides NSW primary producers with interest free loans of up to $50,000 to help with the costs of implementing systems and practices that enhance the sustainability of their farm.

Who can apply:

  • operating as a sole trader, partnership or private company, trading in agricultural products
  • registered with the Australian Taxation Office as a primary producer and have an ABN.

Natural Disaster Assistance QLD

Provides Queensland small businesses and primary producers with low-interest loans of up to $250,000 to assist with disaster recovery.

Who can apply:

At a minimum, you must:

  • have sustained substantial damage to buildings, plant, equipment or stock as a result of an eligible disaster
  • be a small business owner or primary producer in Queensland.

Disaster Recovery Allowance (DRA)

Provides people whose income has been reduced because of a declared major disaster with a short-term allowance for up to 13 weeks.

Who can apply:

At a minimum, you must:

  • be at least 16 years of age
  • be an Australian citizen or be eligible to work in Australia
  • live in, or earn or receive an income in an area that has been adversely affected by a declared major disaster.

Disaster Recovery Payment (DRP)

Provides individuals who have been adversely affected by a major disaster either in Australia or overseas with a one-off, non-means tested payment of $1,000 for adults and $400 for children.

  • be an Australian resident or the holder of an eligible visa
  • have been adversely affected by a major disaster.

Provides primary producers in NSW with funding of between $7,500 and $20,000 to help transport stock or fodder in emergencies such as declared natural disasters or droughts.

  • be registered with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) as a primary producer and have an Australian Business Number (ABN).

Farm Management Deposits Scheme

Provides primary production businesses with tax deductions on farm management deposits to help them deal with inconsistent income from natural disasters, climate and market changes.

Who can apply:

At a minimum, you must:

  • be carrying on a primary production business
  • be an individual (including as a partner in a partnership or beneficiary of a trust)
  • have a taxable non-primary production income of less than $100,000 in the income year you make the deposit.

  • be registered for tax purposes in Australia with an Australian Business Number (ABN) and be registered for GST
  • be in financial need of a loan.
