Export Market Development Grants EMDG

Provides exporters who are aiming to increase their international sales with reimbursements of up to 50% of promotional expenses. Promotional expenses must be over $15,000 to a maximum of $150,000.

Who can apply:

At a minimum, you must:

  • have a total income of less than $50 million
  • be the principal (rather than agent) in the export of products (goods, services, intellectual property etc.)
  • promote products to residents of other countries.

Provides small to medium manufacturing businesses in Tasmania with financial assistance of up to $10,000 to cover up to 50% of project costs to establish new interstate and international markets.

Who can apply:

  • have an Australian Business Number (ABN)
  • operate in Tasmania
  • have a sales turnover between $300,000 and $20 million.
  • be able to fund half of the intended project.

Provides new and existing business incubators with grants of up to $500,000 to assist Australian start-ups develop the capabilities required to succeed in international markets.

Who can apply:

At a minimum, you must:

  • be an existing incubator or establishing a new incubator that will foster and develop innovative start-ups focused on international trade
  • be either an entity incorporated in Australia, an incorporated trustee on behalf of a trust, an incorporated not for profit organisation, a publicly funded research organisation, or a local government agency or body.

Who can apply:

At a minimum, you must:

  • be a non-tax-exempt company, Australian University, Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) or Publicly Funded Research Agency (PRFA)
  • have ownership, access to, or the beneficial use of any intellectual property necessary to carry out the projects under the JSF Program
  • be able to match the value of funding dollar for dollar (co-contribution required)
  • not be one of the companies engaged on the development of the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF).
