ACT Microcredit Loan Program

Provides low income earners looking to start or expand an existing business with interest free loans of up to $3,000 or low interest loans up to $10,000 to purchase materials or equipment grow the business. Successful applicants can also access services including business skills growth, one-on-one mentoring, peer support and networking events.

Who can apply:

At a minimum, you must:

  • have had a Health Care Card, Pension Card or equivalent for at least six months
  • have a combined family income no higher than $75,000
  • have been an ACT resident for a minimum of six months
  • have an existing or semi established business based in the ACT.

Business Growth Fund Program QLD

  • Open

Provides small to medium Queensland businesses with funding of up to $50,000 (excluding GST) to purchase and implement highly specialised equipment or services.

Who can apply:

At a minimum, you must:

  • have an Australian Business Number (ABN) and be registered for GST
  • have Queensland headquarters
  • have been trading for at least three years
  • have a minimum turnover of $500,000.

Automotive Transformation Scheme (ATS)

  • Open

Provides businesses involved in the Australian automotive industry with cash payments to cover up to 15% of the cost of investing in plant and equipment, and 50% of the cost of investing in research and development, to encourage investment and innovation in the Australian automotive industry. Cash payments are also available for activities related to the production of motor vehicles, engines and engine components.

Who can apply:

At a minimum, you must be an:

  • Australian Motor Vehicle Producer (MVP)
  • Australian Automotive Component Producer (ACP)
  • Australian Automotive Machine Tool and Automotive Tooling Producer (AMTPs), or
  • Australian Automotive Service Provider (ASP).

Local Capability Fund - Western Australian Industry Participation Strategy (WAIPS Round)

  • Open

Provides small to medium Western Australian businesses with funding of up to $20,000 (excluding GST) to improve their competitiveness and better prepare them to win State and local Government supply contracts.

Who can apply:

At a minimum, you must have:

  • an Australian Business Number (ABN) or an Australian Company Number (ACN)
  • operating facilities based in Western Australia, and will continue to be based in Western Australia for the next 12 months
  • a turnover between $250,000 and $100 million.

Provides Western Australian agribusinesses with funding of up to $300,000 to help them invest in new projects or expansions which will create jobs and deliver benefits to regional WA.

Industry 4.0 Testlabs for Australia

  • Open

A pilot program that provides $5 million in matched funding in 2018-19 to establish five Industry 4.0 testlabs at five Australian universities. It will provide innovation support for small and medium enterprises in priority industry growth sectors through access to Industry 4.0 testlabs, and build the skills required to capitalise on technological opportunities presented by Industry 4.0.

Who can apply:

At a minimum, you must:

  • be invited to apply
  • be one of the universities listed below:
    • The University of Queensland
    • University of Technology Sydney
    • University of South Australia
    • University of Western Australia
    • Swinburne University of Technology
  • have an Australian Business Number (ABN)
  • be an entity incorporated in Australia and a trading corporation, where your trading activities
    • form a sufficiently significant proportion of the corporation's overall activities as to merit it being described as a trading corporation; or
    • are a substantial and not merely peripheral activity of the corporation.

Provides primary producers in NSW with loans of up to $250,000 to help carry out permanent works that have significant long term benefits and mitigate adverse seasonal conditions.

Who can apply:

At a minimum, you must:

  • be the owner or operator of the property where the work is to be carried out
  • show the farm produces at least 50% of your gross income
  • not have gross off-farm assets exceeding $5,000,000
  • provide satisfactory security to support the loan sought.
