Purpose of the review

The review will assess the Centre of Defence Industry Capability’s (CDIC’s) current operational model and ensure it can continue supporting the growth of the Australian defence industry now and into the future.

The review will offer an opportunity to strengthen the delivery of the CDIC, clarify its role and assess its capacity to continue to support small and regional businesses looking to enter the defence market or grow their industry footprint.

Terms of Reference

The Minister for Defence Industry has approved the Terms of Reference (ToR). The ToR outlines the overarching purpose and context that forms the review and the criteria that will be applied throughout the process.

Consultation Process

The Reviewers are seeking your input on the framework of programs and functional operation of the CDIC that collectively makes up its core defence industry development function. The Reviewers hope to hear from a wide range of stakeholders including:

  • industry
  • industry associations
  • state and territory governments
  • individuals or groups with an interest in the CDIC

How to submit your feedback

Interested parties are invited to provide written submissions to the review, particularly in response to the ideas and questions set out in the discussion paper .

There are two ways to contribute:

  1. provide a brief comment via email
  2. provide a more detailed written submission guided by the questions in the discussion paper

The closing date for brief comments and written submissions is 5pm (AEST) Sunday 24 May 2020.
