Ministerial visit to Kord Defence in Canberra
In December 2017, the Minister for Defence Industry, the Hon Christopher Pyne MP, and Senator for the ACT Zed Seselja, announced that Kord Defence would receive $635,000 through the Defence Innovation Hub to develop an innovative wireless systems control technology to enhance Army capability.
Minister Pyne toured Kord’s facilities, viewed the technology in action and discussed how funding from the Defence Innovation Hub will provide Kord with the opportunity to develop innovative technology that will not only benefit the ADF, but have world wide application and significant export potential for Australia.
Senator Seselja said it was great to see a local company leading the development of innovative technology for the ADF, and was pleased to see that the work performed by Kord was providing significant economic benefits to the Canberra region.
In addition to the Defence Innovation Hub contract, Kord has taken advantage of business advisory services such as the Entrepreneurs’ Program and the Centre for Defence Industry Capability to not only identify opportunities to partner with the ADF, but to further grow and expand their business into international markets.
