Australia Japan Foundation Grant Program
The Australia Japan Foundation Grant Program provides businesses and individuals with funding to undertake projects that strengthen Australia-Japan relations, enhance Australia's international reputation and promote cultural understanding.

Overview
The Australia-Japan Foundation (AJF) aims to increase:
- understanding in Japan of shared interests with Australia
- understanding in Australia of the importance of Japan to Australia as an economic and strategic partner
- recognition in Japan of Australian excellence and expertise
The AJF grant program supports innovative projects that promote people-to-people engagement between Australian and Japan in a number of priority areas, including:
- communication, information and advocacy
- economic diplomacy and geopolitics
- education and Australian studies
- scientific innovation
- society, culture and sport
What are the eligibility criteria?
To be eligible, you must be one of the following entity types:
- an Australian entity with an Australian business number (ABN), Australian company number (ACN) or Indigenous Corporation Number (ICN)
- an Australian consortium with a lead organisation
- an Australian or permanent resident of Australia
- an Australian registered charity or not-for-profit organisation
- an Australian local government body
- an Australian State/Territory government body
- a corporate Commonwealth entity
- an Australian statutory authority
