Who is this for?

Tasmanian primary producers in eligible LGAs.

Overview

This funding is for primary producers (including farmers, fishers, private foresters and beekeepers) in the following fire affected local governments areas (LGAs):

  • Central Highlands and Southern Midlands (Pelham)
  • Break O'Day (Mathinna and Fingal)
  • Flinders Island (Foochow)
  • Glamorgan Spring Bay (Swansea)
  • West Tamar (Winkleigh)

The grant can go towards:

  • cleaning up and harvesting damaged crops
  • fodder and water, sheds, fencing and agricultural equipment, where those needs are not covered by existing insurance policies

What are the eligibility criteria?

To be eligible, you must:

  • be located in an eligible local government area
  • be a primary producer and earn more than 50% of your income from a combination of primary production and goods made directly from the primary production enterprise (e.g. wine)
  • spend part of your labour on primary production
  • have been carrying on your business at the time of the fires
  • hold an Australian business number (ABN) and have held that ABN at the time of the disaster
  • intend to re-establish the primary production enterprise
