Community Heritage Grants provide funding to help identify, conserve, interpret and promote heritage assets.


What do you get?

Up to $50,000.

Who is this for?

Owners, custodians and managers of heritage items. 


Community Heritage Grants provide funding to communities, individuals, organisations, local governments and consultants to help them identify, conserve, interpret and promote heritage.

Funding available include:

  • $10,000 to $50,000 for Community Engagement Projects to deliver a service or product that actively engages the community in celebration and promotion of heritage across the region or state
  • $10,000 to $40,000 for Interpretation Projects relating to an item on the SHR (where the state or federal government does not own the item and does not have responsibility for its maintenance and repair)

What are the eligibility criteria?

To be eligible, you must be:

  • an individual, consultant, community group or organisation, or NSW local government or regional joint organisation

To be eligible for Interpretation Projects, you must also be:

  • the owner, or have the support of the owner, of a State Heritage Registered (SHR) listed item
