The Tourism Recovery Fund provides small and micro tourism businesses with funding to help them reactivate and adapt to the gradual reopening of the travel market post COVID-19.

Funding of up to $6500.

Who is this for?

Small and micro Western Australian tourism businesses.


Funding is available to eligible small tourism businesses to help them mobilise to become operational when intra-regional and/or interstate visitation restarts.

This recovery support may be used for:

  • staff and equipment deployment/activation
  • staff recruitment and training
  • business/product adaptability reinstating operations and licensing systems
  • reinstating supply-chain requirements
  • marketing activities, particularly targeted at the intrastate and then domestic markets

What are the eligibility criteria?

To be eligible, you must:

  • have a valid Australian business number (ABN)
  • have annual group Australian taxable wages of $1 million or less, and not be eligible to receive the COVID-19 Relief: Payroll Tax $17,500 grant
  • be a tourism business operating within at least 1 of the following categorie
    • accommodation
    • tourism attraction or experience tour
    • transport (travel and transfer services)

Additionally you must be an active member of 1 of the following tourism associations and/or hold accreditation through an approved program including:

  • a Regional Tourism Organisation (RTO): Australia’s North West, Australia’s Coral Coast, Destination Perth, Australia’s South West or Australia’s Golden Outback
  • the Western Australian Indigenous Tourism Operators Council (WAITOC)
  • accredited via the Australian Tourism Accreditation Program, STAR Rating Australia Program, Eco Certification Program or the Caravan/Holiday Park Accreditation Program
