Victorian Live Music Venue Program

The Victorian Live Music Venue Program provides funding for music venues to support them through the shutdowns and to help them reopen in a COVID-safe way.

Who is this for?

Operators of music venues across Victoria.


Funding can be used to support immediate business costs caused by the shutdowns and to help businesses reopen in a COVID-safe way, including but not limited to:

  • rent, insurance, utilities, equipment leasing
  • costs for obtaining professional business services or advice
  • marketing
  • venue modifications, including signage, sneeze screens and other minor capital works not requiring a building permit
  • re-establishing supply chains and re-engaging with audiences
  • artists fees

What are the eligibility criteria?

This program is only open to operators of licensed music venues in Victoria with a demonstrated history of programming original live music performance.

Additionally, applicants must:

  • have been operating as an original live music venue on 16 March 2020
  • be able to evidence a reduction in turnover of at least 30% from the operation of the venue since 16┬áMarch 2020
  • provide a copy of their liquor licence that shows an overall venue capacity of 50 to 1200 people
  • provide a copy of their OneMusic licence for public performance of music that was held on 16 March 2020
  • be a solvent business
  • hold a valid Australian business number (ABN), and have held that ABN at 16 March 2020
