Tradex Scheme

Provides exporters with an up-front exemption from Customs duty and GST for goods imported into Australia and then exported within one year. For the benefits, you must hold a Tradex order before you import your goods.

Who can apply:

At a minimum, you must:

  • be an individual, incorporated company, partnership, incorporated association or other kind of body corporate
  • export the nominated goods, or combine them into other goods that are then exported
  • export the nominated goods within one year.

The Prime Minister’s Prizes for Science - Science Teaching Prizes

Provides prizes to Australian scientists and innovators, and to science educators for outstanding achievements in scientific research, research-based innovation and excellence in science teaching. Winners receive a medallion, lapel pin, award certificate and prize money.

Who can apply:

To be eligible for a Science Teaching Prize, a nominee must:

  • be an Australian citizen or permanent resident of Australia
  • have undertaken their teaching achievement, for which they are nominated, in Australia
  • not be self-nominated
  • be a full time or part time registered teacher at a primary or secondary school listed on the Australian Schools List and be active in teaching science, mathematics or technology in the classroom at the time of their nomination.

Prize nominees do not need to be a member of a professional association or have received any prior award to be eligible.

There are additional eligibility criteria for each prize.

The Prime Minister’s Prizes for Science – Science Prizes

The Prime Minister’s Prizes for Science – Science Prizes recognise the outstanding achievements of Australian scientists and innovators in science, research-based innovation and commercialisation.

Who can apply:

To be eligible for a Science Prize, a nominee must:

  • be an Australian citizen or permanent resident of Australia
  • not be self-nominated
  • not be nominated in more than one prize category. Where a nominee is nominated in more than one category, the Prizes Secretariat will ask the nominee to select a single nomination to pursue.

Prize nominees do not need to be a member of a professional association or have received any prior award to be eligible.
