ACTSmart Business Energy and Water Program

Provides businesses in the ACT with reimbursements of up to $5,000 to cover up to 50% of costs needed to upgrade to more energy and water efficient tools in their business to reduced running costs from water and energy usage.

Who can apply:

At a minimum, you must:

  • operate in the ACT
  • have electricity bills of up to $20,000 per year
  • employ a maximum of 10 full-time staff.

Who can apply:

At a minimum, you must:

  • be a company, incorporated in Australia (or an incorporated trustee applying on behalf of a trust)
  • have an annual turnover or operating expenditure within the current or previous two financial years between $1.5 million ($750,000 for remote Australia and northern Australia) and $100 million.

  • have a business or proposed business that is based and registered in the NT.

Business Growth Grants

  • Open

You can apply for a business growth grant if you have received a business management service and your business adviser/facilitator recommends specific business improvement activities to increase your business’s capability to trade in Australian markets and/or markets in other countries. The grant amount is up to 50 per cent of eligible costs and the maximum grant amount is $20,000 (excluding GST).

Who can apply:

At a minimum, you must:

  • have received a completed plan from an Entrepreneurs’ Programme Business Management advice or facilitation service
  • have not previously received a business growth grant to implement recommendations from the plan under which you are applying.

Provides individuals who are not in employment, education or training with accredited small business training, mentoring and support, and NEIS Allowance for up to 39 weeks to help them start their own business.

Who can apply:

At a minimum, you must:

  • not be prohibited by law from working in Australia, an overseas visitor on a working holiday or an overseas student studying in Australia
  • be available to participate in NEIS training (if relevant) and work full-time in your proposed business.
