Exemptions, free product replacements and permits for people affected by natural disasters

Overview

The Natural Disaster and Drought Assistance Package provides the following for natural disaster and drought assistance:

• no administration surcharge for short term registration renewal periods
• no registration renewal reinstatement fees
• no replacement fees for standard issued number plates
• no replacement fees for lost and/or damaged driver licence and photo identity cards
• no replacement fees for lost and/or damaged
  • public passenger transport driver authorisations
  • heavy vehicle work diaries
  • industry authorities including accreditation documentation and identity cards
  • books of certificates of inspection or modification certificates
• multi-combination drought permits
• increase to the maximum loaded dimensions of baled or rolled hay or straw
• an additional registration pay term of 3 months and exemption from surcharge for a 3 or 6 month registration pay term
• exemption from an administrative fee for late payment of registration
• waiving of certificate of inspection fees
• seasonal registration vehicles can have dormant period extended to 2 years
• cancellation and re-registration of vehicles
• fodder transport with primary producer concession
• farm plate concession vehicles able to cart water for up to 80 km
• stock grazing on declared road reserves
