Major Events Funding provides funding for major events on a case-by-case basis.

Tourism WA assesses proposed events to determine whether it meets the funding criteria.

The funding criteria include, but are not limited to:

  • economic impact – the anticipated number of interstate and international participants, visitors, support teams and others, the length of their stay and estimated expenditure
  • media impact – the media profile the event can raise for WA as a tourist destination
  • event Frequency – regularly staged events will receive more favourable consideration
  • private sector investment – the greater the funding by the private sector, the more favourable the assessment

What are the eligibility criteria?

Applications must be submitted 12 months before the date of the event.

Those wishing to put on a major event for locals and visitors in WA can apply.
