Funding for organisations undertaking projects that benefit the Mount Isa community and economy

Overview

The Queensland government is providing funding to support workers affected by the pending closure of mines in the region.

Funding will be provided for projects that create jobs for the local workforce, strengthen the economy, liveability and community resilience in Mount Isa in the short-to-medium term.

Projects will be considered for funding under 2 streams:

• Initiatives that strengthen Mount Isa’s economy through immediate job creation and/or worker transition pathways.
• Initiatives that enhance Mount Isa’s attractiveness as a place for people to live and work.

• have an active Australian business number (ABN) or Australian registered body number (ARBN)
• be a legal entity
• be registered for goods and services tax (GST).
